Miss Katie’s Crab Shack

We stopped into Miss Katie’s Crab Shack on a busy Wednesday Band Night. A humble little place smack bang in the public bar of “The Public Bar” on Victoria Street.

Katie Marron, of Movida and Eau De Vie fame, is at the helm and brings with her generations of inspiration.

Complete with fake sharks head and family recipes dating decades. Miss Katie’s prides itself on being “Melbourne’s most authenthic take on southern style feasting”. As a first time patron it is hard to disagree. I couldn’t decided if I felt more like Homer Simpson or Barney Ruble in a house of punks, complete with my over sized bib and wooden hammer.

The shack is directly across the road from Melbourne’s Victoria Market. So it is safe to say that they aren’t lying, when they say the menu is full the freshest seafood and poultry. All sourced daily sourced daily.

Miss Katie took over the heavily used space in mid-August 2013, and has gone about making it her own.
