A Group of Professionals Team Up to Sell As Many Sausages In One Day to Raise Money to Help Sick Kids.

Melbourne, Victoria (PRWEB) December 06, 2012

The TLC for kids junior board is hosting its first Bunnings BBQ to raise money and awareness for one of Australias leading childrens charities.

The junior board is made up of a team of enthusiastic entrepreneurs & professionals from companies such as NAB, Ernst & Young and Adriatic Furniture. All members offer their time at no charge as they have a strong desire to help put a smile on sick childrens faces across Australia.

The junior board has rallied support from all types of businesses such as Brenta Meats and Simplot to supply sausages, drinks and to help man the stand on the day.

Bunnings offers this brilliant opportunity to not-for-profits and community groups across Australia, and all money raised goes straight to the charity.

After being a solid supporter of TLC for kids for over 5 years it has been a delight to now be on the junior board and be able to do more to support them. I was drawn to the cause for their devotion to helping kids so efficiently. There is no other service like their Rapid Service or the Distraction Boxes. These services provide support, surprises and pain relief to sick children, and in the hospital system this makes all the difference to these families Say Caroline Balinska Junior board member.

This BBQ is one of many events that the members hold each year to help raise money. Anyone wishing to contribute a donation is welcome to show up on the day and buy a sausage. The TLC for kids mascots Splidge and Splodge will be there to entertain the kids. Donations can also be made via the website.

About TLC for kids

National non-profit, TLC for kids, is the only organisation in Australia able to provide free support for kids during painful procedures, and within the critical 48 hour period following an emotionally traumatic experience in hospital.

Their driving force is to reach those kids with less common illnesses and diseases such as accident & burns victims and kids who, by sheer misfortune, don’t meet the criteria of the existing services.

Foundation Financial Group Participates in Movember

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) December 11, 2012

Foundation Financial Group employees at the Dallas, Texas office located at 1903 Central Drive, Suite 201, participated in an event throughout the month of November. The movement, known as Movember, consists of men growing out their facial hair to raise vital awareness and funds for mens health issues, specifically mens cancer initiatives. The men at Foundation Financial Groups Dallas office grew out their moustaches.

The mission of Movember is to promote awareness of primarily male illnesses. Specifically, the movement targets prostate and testicular cancer. In 2011, over 854,000 global Movember partakers raised $ 126.3 million. Since the movements creation in Melbourne, Australia, the event has inspired and recruited more than 1.9 million participants.

Participants start November 1st clean shaven, and throughout the month grow out their facial hair. The participants are known as Mo Bros, and supportive women are known as Mo Sistas. The men become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November, according to the movements mission statement. The Mo Bros of FFG participated and raised funds for the cause.

Participating in Movember is very important to me especially as a man, Foundation Financial Group Event Coordinator, Andrew Postell stated. One in two men will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, as compared with one in three women. And we are 35 percent more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than a woman is with breast cancer. And those figures double for African American men. Yet men are less likely to go to the doctor than a woman.

As this movement grows so will awareness to mens health, Postell continued. The complete eradication of cancer is the goal and if having our office grow mustaches helps achieve that goal then we will participate every year.

At the end of the month, Mo Bros either attend their own Movember parties or one of the well-known Gala Part
